Miyawaki Sakura: Next, radio name Maya. Thank you.

Listener email: Saku-chan, good evening. I’m 28 years old WIZ*ONE.

Saku-chan, congratulations on the first airing of “Yummy Summer”, which you wrote and composed.

I was really looking forward to it.

First of all, the members’ voices matched the melody perfectly, and although summer has already passed, it was a very refreshing song and lyrics that reminded me of the fun atmosphere of summer.

What I particularly wanted to convey was that the melody is very bright, but when I saw the lyrics, tears naturally came to my eyes.

I especially like the lyrics of the second verse. I’m sorry if I got the lyrics wrong.

“Even if I disappear someday, I won’t regret coming here because it will remain in our hearts”

I will never regret becoming WIZ*ONE.

I love Saku-chan and IZ*ONE even more now.
I hope I can meet you at an online autograph session soon.
Please do your best without overdoing it. I’m always rooting for you.

Miyawaki Sakura: Thank you.
The theme of this song is summer, isn’t it? And when you think of summer, you think of the sea.
And there’s the line, “Even if I disappear like sea foam.”
In that part, I kind of incorporated the worldview of the fairy tale The Little Mermaid.
In the fairy tale The Little Mermaid doesn’t have a bad ending, but it’s not a happy ending, either.
But I thought her strength of will was really cool, because she lost her voice to become a human. In the end, the prince ends up with someone else, and the evil mermaid tells her, “If you kill the prince, you’ll be able to return to being a mermaid, but if you can’t kill him, you’ll become sea foam.”
And at that point, the little mermaid chooses to become sea foam.
I thought her strength of will and her strength in not regretting becoming a human and meeting the prince were really cool.
I think IZ*ONE has that same inner strength, so I incorporated a bit of the world of The Little Mermaid into the song.
If you noticed that, you’re a genius (laughs).
