On the bayfm radio program “Tonight, Under Sakura’s Tree” (every Wednesday from 24:00 to 24:30), broadcast on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.
IZONE’s Miyawaki Sakura was talking about the fan song “WithOne” that was broadcast on the reality show “IZ*ONE CHU ~Fantasy Campus”.
Miyawaki Sakura: The two-week episode of the solo reality show “IZ*ONE CHU ~Fantasy Campus”, which was broadcast simultaneously in Korea and Japan on “Mnet”, was completed today. It was broadcast today (the 10th).
As for the behind-the-scenes story of the two weeks… well.
First of all, the concept this time was “college students”. So we really went to a “college-like” place and did something like a class. Since it was just IZ*ONE, there was no teacher, but we had classes and stuff. I wonder what else we did…
Oh, that’s right! After that, going back to IZONE… the songs on this comeback album will include songs written by the 12 members of IZONE. The reality show has already aired, and it’s called “WithOne”… Eunbi composed it, and the 12 of us sent Eunbi the “words we wanted to say to WIZONE” that we each thought up to go with the melody of the song, and Eunbi compiled them into a song called “Pengsong”… a fan song. We made a song for our fans.
Well… I’ve had the experience of writing lyrics a few times, but when I wrote lyrics while thinking about WIZ*ONE, I thought, “The words come out so easily.” I’m always worried when I write lyrics, but this time, I really wanted to say this, and this, and so many words just kept coming out. Eunbi also said that all the “words” of the 12 of us were really good, and she said, “It was really hard to choose.”
As for how I wrote the lyrics… well.
I started writing a diary around October last year. I wrote for five or six months… I wrote every day. I took the words I thought at that time and wrote it while thinking, “Ah, this is what I was thinking at that time,” and wanted to convey to WIZ*ONE.
I’m sure there will be reruns, so if you still want to watch it in Japanese, please do look forward to the Japanese broadcast.
