Honda Hitomi: And it’s been feeling a lot more like autumn lately.
Radio name Hi-Ke from Chiba Prefecture sent me a message saying, “The other day I was walking outside and I smelled the scent of osmanthus and I felt that it was autumn. These days, masks are indispensable because of the virus, but I’m very happy to be able to feel the season like this. When do you feel that it’s autumn, Hi-chan?”
Yes, the time I felt that it was autumn recently was when I was walking down the street and there was a ginkgo tree on the side of the road.
When I saw the ginkgo nuts, I thought, “Oh, so ginkgo nuts are found in Korea just like they are in Japan.” Also, when I think of autumn in Korea, figs are a big part of it, so when I see figs among the fruits recently, I feel that it’s autumn.
I have the image of people eating a lot more figs there than in Japan.
