On the bayfm radio show “Tonight, Under Sakura’s Tree” (every Wednesday 24:00-24:30), broadcast on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.
Miyawaki Sakura talked about IZ*ONE’s comeback in Korea and the documentary film “EYES ON ME: The Movie”.
Miyawaki Sakura: I finally have some “good news” to share with you all.
Due to recording schedules, I was only able to talk about it in June…
IZ*ONE will be making a comeback in Korea on June 15th!
For those of you who don’t know what a “comeback” is in Korea, a “comeback” is when you release an album in Korea.
In Korea, after releasing an album, it’s about three weeks after that… you get busy appearing on music shows and doing various activities.
So, at the time of the last recording, you were already preparing for your comeback.
So on the “Sakunoki” homepage, we usually have “photos from the recording session” up, but we haven’t been able to release them yet, so we’ve been posting “selfies”.
We’re still in the process of preparing, we’ve finished filming the music video and recording, and now we’re practicing the title song… it feels like we’re gradually improving the quality of the song.
And our fans, too. I think they have high expectations, so we’ll work hard as a group of 12 to live up to those expectations.
And in Korea, the documentary film “EYES ON ME: The Movie” of IZ*ONE’s tour last year has been released since June 10th. It will be released in Vietnam on June 26th and so on.
Well, when we decided to film the reality show, we actually only saw it for a moment.
We haven’t seen this movie yet either.
I really only saw it for a moment, and it made me want to cry. I don’t know why…
First of all, the tour that took place last year was exactly one year ago, so the Korean concert was about that time. When I thought “It’s been a year already,” I almost cried, and then when I saw ourselves on stage, I was so moved that I almost cried….
So, all the members were watching it together, and we were all saying, “Wow, I feel like I’m going to cry.” We haven’t had a chance to see the movie yet, but I hope that the day will come soon when everyone in Japan can see it too.
