This is a sudden question, but do you burn incense, Ohana-chan?
I’m from Kyoto, so it’s easy to get incense, and I’ve always burned incense when I want to feel relaxed, but my colleagues told me that they don’t like incense because it reminds them of their grandmother’s house.
I find my heart soothed by gazing at the flickering smoke while being surrounded by that wonderful scent, but has that changed?
Sugisaki Hana: Oh, that’s wonderful♪ I don’t think it’s changed at all.
Oh, I see, incense… I don’t burn incense myself that often, but my mother really loves it, and I remember her using it a lot at home.
I think everyone has different preferences when it comes to scents.
So I don’t think it’s changed at all.
One thing that made an impression on me about incense was when Rie Miyazawa said that she changes her perfume depending on the role she plays. When she was doing a historical drama, she used a perfume that smelled like incense.
I thought that was really nice, and it made an impression on me.
The smell of incense is so mature, isn’t it (laughs).
But it’s not really incense, but I really like staring at mosquito coils like this (laughs).
That also feels like incense. When I watch the smoke quietly rising up, it’s really soothing, and I can just daydream, and it’s one of my favorite times, so I thought I’d like to try burning incense myself.
My favorite scents are musk, sweet osmanthus, and woody scents.
When I ask my mother to smell my favorite scent, she says, “I don’t think I’m very good at this kind of thing,” and I’m like, “Ahh~” (laughs).
So, right now, I want to wear perfume to the shooting location, but I think that it might be unpleasant for people who don’t like this smell, so I can’t wear anything, and I end up going to the location without any scent (laughs).
I go to the location without wearing anything, but my dream is to go to the location wearing some nice scent (laughs).
It’s like, isn’t it? Finding a scent you like is really fun, but isn’t it difficult? Smelling different perfume scents.
I heard that people can only smell three different scents a day.
When you go to buy that perfume, it seems like that happens. Maybe.
I think it takes a lot of time to buy a good perfume that suits you. Yeah.
But I think it’s really important to be able to find a scent that makes you feel calm.
That’s why I’m jealous, and it made me want to try more and more different scents.
