Honda Hitomi: Well, starting this month, I’ve been doing Korean lessons, so if there’s any Korean phrases that you think are good to remember, please let me know.

Chaeyoung: Hmm. At the high-five event, Japanese fans asked me, “What Korean phrases should we remember?” and every time I said that, I said “Kunyan (그냥).”

Honda Hitomi: Oh, kunyan. What should I say? In Japanese.
Or just. Just. I guess. Somehow, kunyan, well, you can use anything.

Chaeyoung: Yes. That’s right.

Honda Hitomi: I guess it means just.

Chaeyoung: It’s kind of vague.

Honda Hitomi: Yeah yeah yeah.

Chaeyoung: So, kunyangbohaesoyo (Korean).

Honda Hitomi: Ah, I just did something. Or something.
Yeah, you could use it for pretty much anything. It’s definitely useful to remember.

Chaeyoung: When you don’t know if something tastes good or not, when you’re not sure, you say kunyang. That’s right.

Honda Hitomi: I see, that’s true.
Kunyang can really be used in a variety of situations, so it might be a good idea for everyone to remember it. Wow.
I guess it’s best to ask a Korean for these kinds of tips.

Chaeyoung: Kunyang.

Honda Hitomi: Kunyang. So this week it’s kunyang, everyone, please remember it.
