On the January 4, 2021 (Mon) broadcast of the RADIO BERRY FM Tochigi radio program “IZ*ONE Honda Hitomi’s World Get You” (broadcast every Monday from around 16:25 for 10 minutes / B・E・A・T).
Honda Hitomi: This is from Hopping Fufu, who lives in Aichi Prefecture.
Listener email: What kind of year do you want 2021 to be, Hii-chan?
Due to the influence of the coronavirus, we can’t meet in person at live shows or events, but I hope I can support IZ*ONE with all my might during our limited activity period.
Honda Hitomi: So. Thank you.
That’s right. In 2021, I’m already 21 years old in Korea because everyone’s age changes on January 1st, but in Japan, I’ll be 20 on my birthday this year, so I want to be someone that people can rely on.
Up until now, I wasn’t an adult yet, so I relied a lot on my mom, dad, and other people around me, but now that I’ve reached the milestone of turning 20, I want to become independent in a good way as an adult, so my goal this year is to become someone that people can rely on. Also, when I think back to last year, I thought about doing a lot of things, but I don’t think I was able to actually put them into action. Right.
So, I think the reason I didn’t take action was because I didn’t have confidence in myself, so this year I want to not just think about what I want to do, but to say it out loud and take action, and become a big person without being afraid of failure (laughs).
I guess it’s like giving it a go.
